CMS helps to separate design of web site from its content. It means designer develops a web site and gives it to its owner or manager who can fill a certain design with different content. If necessary the content of web site, its images and graphics can be easily edited without intervention into design of web site. All changes become visible as soon as you make them. (Don't forget to reload page after making changes). Even if you are not an expert of HTML coding, you can easily manage the content of your web site yourself.
Understanding each type of template will allow you to make an educated choice for your business. A flash template is a great way to show creative artwork or showcase your photos. A Cascading Style Sheet or CSS template has been designed to work on multi-platform (different devices) and on multi-browsers. This means no matter what you are viewing the web page on it will look perfect. HTML templates can give you an attractive easy to use layout that will allow you to maintain the web template to your liking. This is great for the website that needs to insert a lot of text on their page. There are also templates that are geared for creating online stores and shops to sell your products called osCommerce templates. Flash intro templates that are pre-made designs that are a great introduction to your website. Last but not least are the Flash animated templates that contain some flash and some non-flash parts. Along with the animated parts you can add buttons, banners, sound, and images. So think about what you need in a webpage and then make your choice.
One of the things that makes it worthwhile to design and develop websites using the Joomla CMS is the endless supply of high quality Joomla templates (free, commercial and even custom-made) that are available to you to both use and edit based on your needs. You can then use these to make your site look and feel as special, fresh and interactive as you want it without needlessly spending money in the process. Here, I will show you a quick and easy 3-step process to getting and installing Joomla templates on your website. I call it the 'PDI Formula'. Don't worry, it has nothing to do with complicated mathematical or philosophical algorithms or geek talk.;) If you are ready, here are the steps:
By creating templates, you are making your quilt-making process easier. The surface patterns will flow consistently as well. You can use your created templates and trace along your patterns, instead of pinning graph paper to your quilt material. You can purchase ready-made templates, however you will save money if you create your own. You can purchase transparent plastics at craft stores or stores that carry quilting supplies. If you choose plastic, you will need to individually trace your patterns. You will need allowance for your seams. After you create your patterns, cut your templates. The plastic templates are ideal for making larger quilts.
Take the time and work with your user community to identify the common templates used throughout the organization. Collect and organize these templates so they can be easily found and included in a workgroup template location. Take the time to prune any templates that are no longer necessary and update any requiring attention. Also take the time to identify templates that are still needed. Ideally, every common form would have a corresponding template. This process will not be quick or easy, so it makes a far better place to start than with any of the other technology portions.
I begin with the XML file as this is the file that will need to contain the instructions for Joomla to install the file, this files can become a stock standard copy and paste for the templates you construct, however if there any files that were used in the previous template and not in the new template you will need to remove them from the XML file or you will find a horrible error when you try to install the template in the backend of Joomla.
