To mark and cut your fabric into units lay the well-ironed fabric on a flat surface wrong side up and place the template on top of the fabric being sure that the template grain line lies parallel to either the lengthwise or crosswise grain of the fabric. If using a scissors, trace the outline of the template onto the fabric, using a pencil or fabric marker that makes a very thin line. Then cut out the units, being sure to use very sharp scissors that you have reserved for use only with fabric.
However, if a person wishes to go for a template, rather than a designer, he will have to observe the attributes and characteristics of the template, which includes design and style that can match the central theme of the site. For instance, if a website owner has gardening as his central theme, he can go for a template having patterns of gardening tools, pots, green and natural scenery. This will offer a great impression in the minds of the viewers and they can also be attracted to visit the website again.
The easier, simpler and more preferable way to install your new template is to login to the admin area (backend) of your Joomla website (the /administrator directory, from where you manage all aspects of your site) and upload it from there. You can do this by opening the 'Extensions' tab and clicking on the 'Upload and Install' link after selecting the template from your computer. It should be uploaded and installed in a minute (usually in a few seconds after you click on the upload link). And, that's it! You have just uploaded and installed a new Joomla template on your website. The next thing you may want to learn maybe be how to modify the template to suit your planned theme for the website!
To create your templates you will need to choose plastic or paper. Once you make your choice you will need to trace your template to paper, add a few permitted seams, and then use adhesive to add your trace to a clip of hard copy like cardboard and cut out your templates. Before you cut your templates, first make copies and play with the patterns until you achieve your desired pattern. Once you achieve your patterns add numbers or letters to mark it. This will help you remember where each template goes. Next, you will cut your pattern parts out, using scissors or a hobby knife. Cut the outside areas only at the edges. You will need to create one template per piece to add to your quilt.
Website templates are basically ready-made web pages that you can download from a template design company. The HTML code is ready to go - all you have to do is choose a template that suits your business and customer base, download it and then edit according to your specifications. Most companies showcase all the available designs on their site for you to preview before downloading, so you'll know exactly what you are buying beforehand.
A purchased template must be edited in order to fill in your own content, images, logo, contact information, etc. Custom flash or HTML coding should also be done in order to make the template truly match the theme of your website. Many of the web templates you found on different sites might look similar to a certain point, and are often overwhelmingly corporate feel. Also remember you are not the only custom who purchase the web template unless you buy an exclusive license of the template (costs thousands!). And even if you do, prior to your purchase other customers might have already purchased that web template and have used it. This might not be a great problem for a personal home page. But many corporate or serious Internet business websites would need template customization beyond just replacing text and images.
